You can use the linux installer, since the resulting filetree is the same.
The only thing you don't get help with is Menus and environment setup. Not too
hard to do yourself.

So, install with Linux, then either have that tree accessabel from your VM or
tar.gz it over.

It is usually the required set of old libraries that you need to match.
I used to play those tricks with older Xilinx installations. Sigh.

WebPACK 9.1i installed cleanly out of the box on my work laptop on Linux but
fails in the end for the Windows. The new laptop will never run Windows, so...
