gEDA: suggestion/automatic layout

[ Ales here, I'm reposting this since majordomo didn't recognize the
e-mail as being subscribed to the geda-dev mailinglist, since it's not. ]

Hello. I'm not on geda-dev list, please mail me a copy if you reply.
(I may join if I start looking at gEDA more better.)

This all relates to gschem.

The minor suggestion is to save the grid spacing value with the hierarchy.
E.g., if one builds a IC chip with some grid spacing, then a user may
more easily edit the IC chip when the grid spacing is already correct.

I tried to edit 555 chip and got the pin texts misaligned due incorrect
spacing. While the grid dots where there, I could not put texts on them.

And now to developmental matters...
Anyone working on automatic layout of schematics? I'm found two papers
from "http://www.csi.uottawa.ca/ordal/" and followed a link found from the
first paper to
 Geometry in Action: Graph Drawing
 http://www.ics.uci.edu/~eppstein/gina/gdraw.html

I could not find a clearly good GNU graph layout code, so, some searching
has to be done.

I will check possible replies from the mailing list archives.
