RE: gEDA: Gschem modification proposal

Hi Wojciech and all,

Correct me if I misunderstood (and if memory serves me well).

A previous mail in the list said something like that all symbols (maybe
except power, verilog, vhdl and IEC symbols) should have an empty
"footprint=" attribute.

In this manner we could avoid the hassle with the different package formats
[DIP, TSOP, TO, and the like].

This was mentioned in a discussion about transistor pinnames [1, 2, 3]
versus [e, b, c].

What do you _exactly_ mean with "promoted"?.

According to my English --> Dutch dictionary this word has several different
meanings.

What "event" is the result of [getting, being] promoted ?.

Kind regards,

Bert Timmerman.
