You mean the attribute inside the symbol (*.sym file) gets overruled by the
schematic (*.sch --> hierarchy up, to a higher level).

Now I see ;-) 

Sorry, I allready understood the working of symbols, schematics and
hierarchy (to a certain degree), but misread the word promoted.
