RE: gEDA: gtag?
Hi Steve and all,
Last month I built myself a jtag for the parallel port with a pcb purchased
from the Elektor magazine (in Dutch/German/English ... print available).
It has some resistors, a capacitor and a 74HCT244 on it (and connectors of
course).
The pcb turned out to be the most expensive part.
It is said to be Altera Byteblaster compatible.
There is no software for this specific jtag under linux (neither for
micros~1) so I have to adapt some of the software made by others (Doolittle
et al) for my purposes.
What strikes me with the jtag software under linux I have seen sofar, is
that it is character based, no one has put a nice GUI around it.
If you are interested I could send a schematic or a pcb layout of this
parallel jtag.
If the UI software for gTAG is device driver independant, and the device
driver for the USB port can be interchanged with a device driver for the
parallel port then I'm interested (very much).
I'm currently building a GUI for a 32 channel ADC with a serial port (RS232)
and a GUI for a 32 input/32 output PLC (also RS232) with Glade.
So if you think you need a GUI for gTAG (with Glade) I'm willing to lend a
hand.
Kind regards,
Bert Timmerman.
