gEDA: Iverilog and GTKwave

Hi all,
   I am trying to use the latest Icarus Verilog 0.7 Beta (s20021117) to 
generate a lxt waveform file and use "GTKWave Analyzer v1.3.19 (w)1999-
2002 BSI" to look at it all running under cygwin.

However, no matter what I do (even with simple designs), GTKWave 
reports "LXT 'file' is truncated, exiting."  When I step back to 
Iverilog 20020817, everything works fine.  vcd viewing works fine for 
both versions.  However, I need to look at a several meg file and only 
lxt usually allows me to do that in GTKWave.

That brings up the next question, what do people use for waveform 
viewing?  Any experiences with the newer Amulet snapshots of GTKWave 
(http://www.cs.man.ac.uk/amulet/)?
