This have obviously already been done. I found an email on this list from 2002
on this and http://www.cs.man.ac.uk/apt/tools/gtkwave/index.html you also find
confirmation of this.
So the issue should be more how well it works in OS X 10.3. That I don't know.
Regardless your efforts should be fairly low I suspect.
