Although I am (extremely) hazy about the details of the PCB code [1], I
like Peter's point very much. I've been pushing the point off-list
that any open-source code developed for gEDA (or anything else, for
that matter) must be reasonably easy to understand. An open-source
project lives and dies based upon how many developers can get
involved. Simple (but adequate) code is therefore preferred over
tricker code which offers an unnoticible performance improvement since
the simple code can be understood and hacked by more developers.
