You may get some exception warnings on the stdout with pre-2.8, but I'm
not sure. The filechooser-buttons in the "Add Page" dialog are GTK2.6
onwards though, so 2.4 won't work without re-doing that dialog. This
probably also means you need pygtk2.6+

I've heard some rumour that dbus uses 2.6 calls in spite of claiming to
be compatible with earlier. It can be patched around, but is more pain
than I think is really necessary. (I could try and ensure our stuff
works with really old dbus versions which compile cleanly with gtk2.4..
perhaps a good exercise in its self)
