I have read the opposite. The fan specifications I have seen typically rate the
ball bearings fans at a higher operating temperature. I believe that
is due to difference
in heat generated by the point contact of the ball bearing and the line contact
of the sleeve bearings.
It is difficult to determine why the fans in my computers failed. The
fan specification that
is most improtant to the manufacturer of the computer case is price ;-)
