I see what you are saying about the needed level of experience.

What do you think in general about offloading some tasks to student
projects?

I guess you have a list of features and the order in which you want to
add them. Are there any where it would be possible to off load them to a
student project?

Do you get some user feed back about feature requests? Would it be
worthwhile to add some wish list to the wiki for that?
