DeLUGE NY - May 5th, 2004 - New York City
Announcement: NEXT MEETING Subject: Electronic circuit design using gEDA and Linux Speakers: Ales Hvezda -- gEDA: an end-to-end circuit design suite. Stuart Brorson -- Analog circuit simulation using SPICE on Linux. Electronic Design Automation (EDA) refers to using computer-based tools for electronic circuit design. EDA is an important branch of the software industry served by three major corporations and many, many smaller companies. As you might expect, Linux is playing an increasingly important role as an EDA platform. One active project working on bringing EDA tools to Linux is gEDA. gEDA (GPL Electronic Design Automation) is a suite of GPL'ed circuit design tools offering enough power to perform small to mid-sized circuit design. The gEDA project was initiated by Ales Hvezda, and has grown to include around a dozen contributors and hundreds of users under his stewardship. Ales will talk about doing electronic design using gEDA.Ales' slides: L | M | S

Free EDA User's Group (Freedog) - December 1st 2004 - MIT, Boston MA
Announcement: The Free EDA Users Group will meet this coming Wednesday, December 1st at MIT in Cambridge, MA (USA). This month we are pleased to feature Ales Hvezda, the founder and benevalent dictator of the gEDA project. Ales will present a talk on: "gEDA Internals" This talk will focus on the internal workings of gEDA/gaf (algorithms and data structures), and will be of great interest to anybody who wants to open the hood and look at the insides of an EDA system!Internals talk tarball in mgp (MagicPoint) format
